Sustainable Packaging Indicators and Metrics Framework Released
December 7, 2009: The SPC has publicly released version 1.0 of the Indicators and Metrics Framework for measuring progress toward sustainable packaging.
Publication of the Sustainable Packaging Indicators and Metrics Framework Version 1.0 is the outcome of an 18-month project that the Sustainable Packaging Coalition undertook to develop a set of common indicators and metrics to help companies measure progress against the criteria articulated in the SPC Definition of Sustainable Packaging. ISO Tech Committee TC 207 has created a new working group, SC4 to develop ISO standards on packaging and the environment. It has been proposed that the new ISO standards be based on the existing EU packaging and the environment standards developed by CEN which are linked to the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive. LPT offers full packaging engineering services-- design, development, prototyping and validation(full report) for compliance to EU Packaging Waste Directive 94/62/EC. Packaging Consultation
